The fire broke out this Monday, May 6, around noon, in an agricultural shed with a surface area of ​​approximately 1,200 m2 at a place called Les Perrais, a few kilometers from the town of Maumusson (Vallons-de-l’Erdre) in the Ancenis region. Inside the building intended for raising kids, 200 of them perished and 30 goats were saved from the flames. The intervention of around thirty firefighters from Ancenis and Saint-Mars-la-Jaille made it possible to preserve an adjoining building housing 600 goats.

We have just settled in. » A fire of accidental origin. “A spark from the welding station started the fire in a tarpaulin and then spread throughout the buildingconfirmed the farmer we contacted. We tried to control the start of the fire and, quickly, we were unable to do anything and immediately alerted the emergency services. »

The firefighters left the scene of the fire around 5:30 p.m. The gendarmerie investigation will have to determine the exact circumstances of the fire.
