A misunderstanding understood. The unbeatable Michel Blanc died, on the night of Thursday October 3 to Friday October 4, 2024, in a Parisian hospital at the age of 72 following a heart attack. The latter has (among other things) marked French cinema through his role in the Tanned people go skiing ; and in particular by the scene where he (alias Jean-Claude Dusse in the film) says: “If I can allow myself to give you some advice it is: Forget that you have no chance, go for it. You never know, on a misunderstanding, it could work“.
A final line that has become cult, now engraved in the annals of the “seventh art” and often repeated, as was the case on November 9, 2023, when the TéFéCé team met the great Liverpool at home.
A tribute that emerges a year later
Indeed, before the match, which (finally) ended in a victory for the Violets (3-2), the Toulouse supporters, visibly not very confident about the future of their team, had prepared a banner with this sentence: “On a misunderstanding, it can work“, as well as a tifo bearing the image of the famous actor who passed through the Splendid troupe to return to Caesar what is Caesar’s.
A tribute that takes on its full meaning today and which will perhaps emerge during the next match organized in Toulouse, the one where TFC will face Angers on October 20 at 5 p.m.
The Tolosa Indians do not forget Michel Blanc
In the meantime, it’s on X (formerly Twitter) that the Ultras reposted it, adding a caption that fits this sad news: “Michel, in Toulouse, we will not forget you. And there is no risk of misunderstanding! Rest in peace” :
