Mayor of the commune of Buissoncourt from 1989 to 2001, André Poirel died on Wednesday 1er May, at Lunéville hospital.

He was born on April 26, 1936, in Nancy, and married on 1er July 1961, in Drouville with Françoise Marie-Claire Populus whom he met in this same town, during a village ball.

Since 1972, the couple had lived in Buissoncourt.

Balance adjuster for the Berkel company in Essey-lès-Nancy, he retired in 1996.

After joining the municipal team as an advisor, André Poirel was elected mayor in 1989, before being re-elected for six years in 1995.

He was a soldier in Zarzis, Tunisia, from 1956 to 1958.

Going mushroom picking, walking in the forest, reading, playing Sudoku or tarot, traveling to the islands were his main interests.

Furthermore, he loved family reunions as well as outings organized by associations and his friends.

He was very appreciated by the inhabitants of Buissoncourt, who will regret the departure of this figure from the village.

His funeral will be celebrated on Friday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m., in the Buissoncourt church followed by burial in the municipal cemetery.
