France, like other countries, must therefore regain their place within the European Union, according to Édouard Balladur: “The institutions of Europe must leave no room for federalism which would involve majority voting replacing unanimous voting. » In November 2023, a resolution of the European Parliament proposed modifying the treaties to generalize the qualified majority rule.
