Bees scattered on the A7 in Orgon after the accident of a vehicle transporting beehives, the motorway closed

Due to an accident the A7 motorway is closed in Orgon, towards Lyon. According to initial information, it was a pick-up which was towing a trailer full of beehives which was hit by a heavy goods vehicle. Sdis 13 firefighters reported that four people were slightly injured in the collision.

The management of Vinci Autoroutes confirms information from an auditor from France Bleu Provence according to which many bees have dispersed in the area because hives have crashed to the ground. Beekeepers have been called in and Vinci patrol officers are on site to ensure the safety of motorists. It is strongly recommended, if you drive in this area, to close your windows securely. In the other direction, the highway is still open for the time being.

At the moment, we do not know when the axis will reopen to traffic for all vehicles. Still in the Marseille-Paris direction, all motorists must exit at Sénas (exit no. 26). This area is obviously to be avoided if you can. A six-kilometer traffic jam is also underway. As a result, the D7n is very congested in the commune of Sénas.
