Farioli chooses an attacking Ajax midfield in Prague – Voetbal International

Francesco Farioli has announced Ajax’s line-up for the match against Slavia Prague. The Italian seems to opt for an attacking midfield in his flawed team with Kristian Hlynsson, Kenneth Taylor and Branco van den Boomen.

In contrast to the match against Besiktas a week ago, Farioli has less choice against Slavia Prague. In addition to the long-injured Steven Berghuis and Sivert Mannsverk, Jordan Henderson, Bertrand Traoré, Wout Weghorst and Kian Fitz-Jim also dropped out due to various injuries.

As has often been the case this season, Farioli starts with his regular block of five players at the back. It means that Remko Pasveer, Devyne Rensch, Josip Sutalo, Youri Baas and Jorrel Hato will play. The replacements for Henderson and Fitz-Jim are named Van den Boomen and Hlynsson. The latter played with Jong Ajax at De Toekomst against FC Dordrecht on Monday.

The logical replacement for Traoré is called Christian Rasmussen. The Dane was also in the starting line-up last Sunday in the 0-2 away match against RKC Waalwijk. Ajax and Slavia Prague will cross swords at 6.45 pm.

The complete line-up of Ajax: feather key; Rensch, Sutalo, Baas, Hato; Hlynsson, Van den Boomen, Taylor; Rasmussen, Brobbey, Godts
