Thursday October 3, around 3 a.m., a fire broke out at the Les Nations shopping center in Vandoeuvre-lès- (Meurthe-et-).

If the safety system was triggered quickly to put out the fire, this caused significant water damage, preventing part of the center from opening this Thursday morning.

Police investigation opened for arson

According to firefighters, the fire was started by “two Molotov cocktails” thrown on the facade of the bar-restaurant in the shopping center. The nighttime fire did not cause any casualties.

Contacted, the national police indicated thatan investigation has been opened and that it was “definitely arson”.

Many stores closed Thursday morning

The rapid activation of the fire safety system caused flooding in many stores in the shopping center.

On the other hand, level C, where Basic Fit is located, is closed for the moment and the footbridge which overlooks the boulevard is fenced ».

Parking lots are also inaccessible because the electrical system was damaged.
