Arriving as advisor to Pierre-Henri Deballon, President of Dijon Football Côte-d’Or, Paul Fauvel succeeds Emmanuel Desplats as General Director. He becomes the youngest Director General of French professional football.
Paul Fauvel has already held the position of General Manager at Bergerac Périgord FC for 4 seasons. Within this National 2 club, he participated in obtaining two Top 3 finishes in the championship and in a great epic in the Coupe de France, concluded in the quarter-final. For two seasons, he has held the position of marketing manager at Red Star FC – a club promoted to Ligue 2 – with revenue development as a priority mission.
Appointed by President Pierre-Henri Deballon, Paul Fauvel will occupy the position of General Director, with expanded missions between the administrative and sporting divisions. At 28, he became the youngest General Manager of a French professional club. As undertaken in Bergerac, he wishes to develop a project based around the territory, the cohesion and the performance of an entire club: “ The opportunity to join a club like DFCO, which is important in national football, was an offer that was difficult to refuse! We have this desire, with Pierre-Henri, to promote the club and write a new page in its history, in this mission which promises to be exciting and difficult. The context around French football will force us to have strong values, while being an ingenious club in all facets of its sporting, administrative and associative project. ».
Pierre-Henri Deballon, who has already collaborated with Paul Fauvel as part of projects carried out with Weezevent, details the set course: “ Anchoring the club in the collective imagination, making the stadium a place of celebration, obviously moving up the sporting ladder, but above all sustaining the future of the club will be Paul’s main missions. I know that he shares the values that are dear to me, that he was able to do a lot with few means, particularly by innovating and taking risks. Also, I am convinced that he will manage to bring all the energies into this adventure ».
Dijon Football Côte-d’Or thanks Emmanuel Desplats for his work and his investment since his arrival in January 2021. The latter continued to carry out missions until September 30, 2024, in order to guarantee an optimal transition, in the interest of the club: Paul Fauvel succeeds a great professional and lover of the club whom I warmly thank for his work and for the support he offered without procrastinating during this entire handover.
