Fire near Rennes: a house destroyed by fire, 26 firefighters mobilized

A fire declared towards 2:45 p.m.This Friday May 3 2024, in a house located rue des Bluteaux, has Chateaugiron (Ille-et-Vilaine). No casualties is not to be deplored.


A house unoccupied for several years

THE flag two-story was completely ablaze When the firefighters arrive, inform the Departmental Fire and Rescue Operations Center (Codis). The intervention was still in progress around 5:15 p.m.

The second floor, the attic and the roof of the house were destroyed by the fire.

Rue des Bluteaux and rue des Tisserands were temporarily closed to traffic during the intervention.

There House affected by the disaster was unoccupied for several years.

” It’s a house which is in an abandoned state for several years,” informs the mayor of Châteaugiron, Yves Renault.

The owners are known. This house is notoriously squatted. It was somehow open to all wind and is not maintained.

“Young people” seen before the fire

The municipal police would also have seen ” young people “ leave this abandoned dwelling some time before the fire broke out.

26 firefighters barracks from Rennes, Rennes Le Blosne, Janzé and Servon-sur-Vilaine intervened on site.

An investigation has been opened by the gendarmerie to determine the origin of the disaster.
