According to Matin, a young man was convicted of manslaughter after his friend died following an overdose during a techno party in (Var).

The facts date back to February 15, 2020, around 3:30 a.m. During a jungle-themed party at the Zénith in Toulon, a young man died at the age of 21 after taking drugs, more precisely four parachutes of MDMA crystals.

Drug supplier convicted

The dealer, a fifty-year-old, said he was devastated at the Toulon court. A friend of the victim explains that he felt unwell after taking approximately 0.4 g of MDMA (0.1 g per bag). The young man died the next day of irreversible multiple organ failure syndrome in hospital.

A friend of the deceased confides that they used this type of substance together, about twice a year. He is now sentenced to two years in prison, one of which is suspended, for “manslaughter” because he was the one who went to get the drugs from the dealer. He claims his deceased friend only waited an hour, instead of two, between takes. An amount that proved fatal. The dealer, who is a father and works in a canteen in a college, receives one year in prison.
