The Brive criminal court (Corrèze) rendered its decision concerning a case of stabbings which occurred during a fight between neighborhoods in the fall of 2021. The main defendant was convicted.

Last April, he admitted, before the Brive criminal court (Corrèze), to being the author of stabbings, during a brawl that occurred in October 2021, between several individuals. A fight against a background of rivalry between two rival districts of the city. But through his lawyer, he had also, on the day of his trial, pleaded for acquittal, explaining to the judge that he had acted in self-defense. “I was afraid for my life,” the accused defended himself.

Placed under advisement, the court’s decision was rendered this Thursday, May 2. The defendant, 25 years old, known for multiple cases involving drug trafficking, was found guilty of the facts. He was sentenced to two years in prison, one year of which was suspended on probation.

The convicted person, who will be able to serve his sentence in the form of home detention, will also have to respect a certain number of obligations, such as not going to the Tujac district, and not carrying a weapon during a period of five years. He will also have to compensate the victims, work and receive treatment. The decision corresponds to the requisitions of the prosecution.
