The Fednot notarial federation has launched a new site to help you with administrative procedures linked to a death. StartMySuccession.be offers practical information and essential advice.

In the news: Fednot wants StartMySuccession.be to help bereaved families deal with the administrative hassles linked to a death.

  • Today, Notaire.be is already a site where you can find a lot of information on inheritance tax, among other things. Fednot emphasizes that there is still a big difference between StartMySuccession.be and Notaris.be.
    • “Notaire.be offers a wide range of legal information on key moments such as marriage, buying a house or starting a business. Often complex subjects whose regulations are constantly evolving,” declared Anne Wuilquot, president of the Federation of Notaries. “StartMySuccession is a more practical site, with concrete information adapted to citizens who, at a painful moment, no longer see the tree that hides the forest.”
  • StartMySuccession includes an overview of what to do when a loved one dies: what absolutely must be organized in the first days, weeks and months, what documents should be collected and where to go?
    • On this site, you will also find information on refusing inheritance, unblocking accounts and declaring inheritance.
  • StartMySuccession.be also gives an overview of what you can do with a notary, from the will to the inheritance pact.
  • In addition, you can download a practical brochure to fill out, entitled “Guidelines for my loved ones”.
    • “It’s a kind of pocket notebook in which you can keep all kinds of information and wishes during your lifetime. Whether it concerns your assets or your personal belongings. For your loved ones, it will later be an aid in carrying out your instructions and wishes,” said Jan Sap, CEO of Fednot.

Note : StartMySuccession.be is not Fednot’s first digital project.

  • “StartMySuccession is a new step in our online services. Besides Izimi, there are online sales through Biddit and the eStox digital securities register for entrepreneurs. Citizens and entrepreneurs can start using our digital tools,” explains Mr. Wuilquot. “At the same time, the notarial offices are of course ready to guide and advise them face to face. Particularly for sensitive matters such as inheritances, personal and human service is essential. »
