The adjoining houses almost caught fire too. Everything happened within a few minutes this Thursday morning. Around 10 a.m., when the firefighters from Sin-le-Noble arrived in rue Ampère, followed by their colleagues from Douai, national and municipal police officers, Enedis and GrDF, a thick plume of smoke rose from the n°81 of the street. A small one-story house that looks exactly like most of the other row houses on the street.

By attacking the fire from the air but also directly into the house, the firefighters quickly took stock of the fire. According to the first elements collected on site, the disaster started in the kitchen and a gas stove could be involved. The damage inside the house was very significant but fortunately the roof was not affected.

A woman who was in the house at the time of the fire was treated by emergency services, particularly with burns to one arm. The two adjoining homes were also evacuated to allow firefighters to check that the fire had not spread. During their intervention, still in progress at the end of the morning, rue Ampère, a one-way street, was blocked to traffic.
