The fire in a 12-unit building on rue des Visons forced the evacuation of around 25 people evening. Tenants will not be able to return to their homes in the short term due to fire and water damage.

Firefighters were called to 7249 rue des Visons at 12:23 a.m., reports the Fire Protection Service press release issued late in the night. He mentions that the department received several calls from people who said the building was on fire, some also mentioned hearing an explosion.

When firefighters arrived, they found a fire raging on the rear balconies of the three-story building and spreading. They completed the evacuation while beginning the extinguishing.

Around fifty firefighters battled the blaze. No one was hurt. They left the scene shortly after 3 a.m. The fire station is trying to determine the cause of the fire and the explosion heard by witnesses.
