The cumulative precipitation recorded since last Friday could reach more than 300 millimeters in the Cévennes. The rivers are under surveillance with a very wet day on Wednesday May 1st.

The good weather is not yet there for this Wednesday, May 1st with the return of precipitation in the Gard and an increase in stormy rains coming from the Mediterranean towards the south of the Massif Central.

According to La Chaîne Météo, where we are talking about a Cévennes episode, the cumulative precipitation, since it fell last Friday, would reach more than 300, even 350 millimeters, in the Cévennes. Météo France has kept the Gard on yellow alert for this day on Wednesday but also on Thursday, May 2 for the risk of flooding.

Watercourses under surveillance

After a lull for the day of Tuesday April 30, the level of rivers in the Gard, such as the Gardons, the Vidourle or the Cèze, fell. But they remain under surveillance with new precipitation expected in the coming hours in the department, particularly in Cévennes, on ground already saturated with water. The return of the sun is expected on Friday May 3 with a rise in temperatures from Sunday May 5 with 26°C in Nîmes, Alès and 24°C in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
