Around 30 employees were working at the Bin Minh Wood Production factory in the southern province of Dong Nai when an explosion occurred on a faulty boiler, according to the Vietnamese news site VNExpress.

The explosion took place a few minutes after repair work in the boiler room, according to this media citing a local official.

“When I arrived on site, I saw a horrible scene: debris scattered everywhere and several bodies lying in the courtyard,” reported a witness cited by the site.

According to photos published by the online newspaper, the sawmill building collapsed under the power of the explosion, the corrugated iron roof thrown to the ground.
