Les Médiévales were born from an idea of ​​the Association of Parents of Schools in the town and the local history society, keen to introduce the castle, the town’s heritage. », recalls Lina Notredame, president of the Les Médiévales association. An eclectic program is offered to visitors. For two days they will be able to stock up on supplies at the medieval market, visit the camp, take part in heraldry, embroidery or purse-making workshops to store their shields (or euros), follow equestrian events, attend skits , try your hand at archery at the Somain archers club stand… Games and activities also await the children.

In the land of dragons

Saturday at 8 p.m., a grand ball is organized, in the purest medieval tradition (no polka, twist or rock). At 9:45 p.m., a fireworks show will amaze everyone. Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., the most daring can learn the art of Dragon Riders (training and riding a horse, capturing a dragon).

The highlight of the day is scheduled for 3 p.m.: the fantastic show entitled Draghorn! The Kingdom of Arghaal, with its fire-eaters, its horsemen and, starring, Viktor the dragon. “ It will be impressive », promises Lina Notredame. For a feast, head to the castle restaurant, Saturday and Sunday lunchtime (no reservation), fast food on site. Unknown in the Middle Ages, the Blue Card will be accepted.
