One day on the bus, I asked a healthy woman if she would give me her seat since she was sitting in a space reserved for people with reduced mobility. Instead of simply giving up her seat at the sight of my cane, she asked me innocently: “Ha! Do you want my place? »

I could write a 700 page book with examples like this. I’m more and more desperate to finally meet normal people. It is a fact that I have met some intelligent people over the years, but the quantity is so much less than the quantity of idiots encountered that it is striking. I dare say “too demanding perhaps?” » Why not show a little more leniency in the future by asking yourself whether the person who responds to you in a way that is too strange for your liking is not either ignorant of the blunder they are making, or a little bit out of her pomp because your question puts her in a certain state of stress?
