After the international success of Ce que le jour owe à la nuit, this new show by Hervé Koubi pays homage to the barbarians, unknown or forgotten, people of the origins. The choreographer spent five years between Algeria and France to reconnect with the land of his ancestors, forging links with twelve Algerian and Burkinabé dancers. Rich from this immersion, he returns with Les Nuits barbares, which depicts the fear of the unknown, this barbarian, but also the need to reach out to others. Through a striking and intoxicating dance, he takes a sensitive look at the history of the Mediterranean basin and brings the crossbreeding to life in a creation of incredible, luminous beauty. Lifts, somersaults and acrobatics, sumptuous scenes follow one another and combine raw force, intensity and precision of the dance, gleaming costumes, between hypnotic warrior parade and contemporary ballet, mixed with hip hop.
