Prices of petroleum products: only diesel falls on May 1 in Martinique

The maximum prices for petroleum products applied from May 1, 2024 were communicated by the prefecture this Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The price of unleaded premium fuel and gas bottles is increasing slightly. That of road diesel is falling.

As of May 1, 2024, zero hours, the maximum prices applicable in Martinique will be as follows:

  • Unleaded premium fuel: €1.92/L, or +€0.06 compared to April 2024 (€1.86);
  • Road diesel: €1.74/L, i.e. -€0.04 compared to April 2024 (€1.78);
  • Gas bottle (12.5 kg): €25.45, i.e. +€0.02 compared to April 2024 (€25.43).

• Crude oil prices are up 6.2% in April to $90.69 per barrel on average, due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

• The European price of gasoline is rising sharply (+11%) while that of diesel is falling significantly (-1%) due to the transfer of demand from diesel to gasoline.

• Butane prices are up 1.5% on average following the drop in temperatures in Europe.

• The euro/dollar parity fell by 1.4% to 1.0737 euros per dollar.
