This Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May 2024, Pondi Équitation is hosting the regional show jumping championship, club category. 1,600 riders from throughout the Brittany region are expected – including eleven Brittany champions (eight individually and three in teams) – and more than 100 equestrian centers will be represented.

The best riders in the region

“These events are conducive to the development of young talents and bring together the best young riders in Brittany. Such an adventure is also, for us, an opportunity to contribute to the revitalization of the greater Center of Brittany,” underlines the association of the Pontivy Equestrian Center.

Show jumping is the most practiced discipline in France, representing 80% of equestrian competitions. This consists of completing a course of obstacles without fault, within a given time, without knocking over bars or refusing or evading an obstacle. “It’s an easy discipline to understand – the novice sees whether the bar falls or not and the clock speaks – and it is synonymous with spectacle.”

Three days of testing

The Brittany Clubs BZH championships will take place over three days, and two tracks, and will include twenty events. Individually: Club 3 (under 15 and over 15), Club 2 (under 16, 16-18 and over 18), Club 1 (under 18 and 18 and over), Elite Club; in teams: Club 3 Team, Club 2 Team and Club 1 Team. Each event is played in two rounds, except in teams. The results obtained count double for qualification for the French Championships.
