What are the forecasts for Wednesday, May 1? This time it is not a question of the weather, but of the social climate. On the eve of Labor Day, information has just been released a note on the demonstrations which will take place throughout France. Last year, in the midst of pension reform, the processions took place in a tense atmosphere. But this year, it is the geopolitical context which could create tensions. The war in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East, the Olympic Games… What should we expect?

Some 270 events are already planned for this Wednesday throughout France. But we should be far from the violent images of last year, such as those of a Parisian police officer set on fire by a molotov cocktail. Territorial intelligence agents, in a note that RTL was able to consult, plan processions that are more festive, more family-friendly and more supervised by the unions. Next to 150,000 people in France, including 30,000 in Parisare expected.

However, the international context calls for vigilance. The agents will therefore be on their guard. Several pro-Palestinian organizations are calling for people to fill the processions, as are far-left anti-capitalist groups who could take advantage of it to speak out against the Paris Olympic Games. In total, 400 to 800 people could come and disrupt the Parisian parade tomorrow.
