Returning from suspension, Trossard scored the second goal for the Gunners (45th+1), just before the break, on a serve from Martinelli. Justin brought the tie back in the second half with a double (47th, 63rd), but Trossard forced Ndidi to score against his side following a corner in stoppage time (90th + 4). Replaced a few minutes later, the Red Devil saw Havertz seal the final score with a final goal (90th + 9).

At Stamford Bridge, Roméo Lavia briefly participated in the celebration of Chelsea, winner of Brighton 4-2. The midfielder entered the game in the 79th minute, while everything was decided in the first half.
