May 1st will be rainy and so will the weekend that follows. All hopes now rest on the super bridge on May 8 and 9. Here are the forecasts.
The weather was very changeable in April. So in May, will we really be able to do “what we like”? For the May 1st public holiday, this already seems compromised. We will have to take out the umbrellas again. According to The Weather Channel, the weather will remain gloomy this Wednesday with disturbances which will cross the country from east to west. Strong winds are also expected from the Cévennes to the Rhône valley, in PACA and Corsica. The only ones protected: the Alsatians who will experience some clearings. Temperatures will fluctuate between 12 and 17 degrees maximum, but with this autumnal weather, the feeling could be much lower.
It’s not going to get better right away. The Weather Channel predicts a similarly unsettled weekend for the weekend of May 4-5, with barely seasonable temperatures. France will remain under the influence of a cold drop. The disturbances will even be sustained from the southwest, to the northeast via Paris… The southeast quarter will be drier, but subject to very windy weather.
The Weather Channel gives other forecasts for May 8 and 9. If it is still uncertain, “the weather is likely to be drier with temperatures more worthy of a month of May”, declared Cyril Wuest, meteorologist at the institute in the newspaper The Dispatch. The specialist site announces the arrival of an anticyclone next week which “could bring the much-hoped-for good weather for a few days”. These beautiful days would coincide with the big bridge of May 8 and 9. If the morning coolness remains present (5 to 10 degrees), the afternoon temperature should be around 20 degrees.
As of last week, The Weather Channel was optimistic in its four-week trends: “The weather should finally start to dry out in this second week of May. This is good news with the great bridge of May 8 and the Ascension”, could- we read. The glimmer of hope seems to be confirmed since Meteo France also indicates that “temperatures and precipitation should remain close to seasonal norms”.
The forecasts for the weekend of May 11 and 12 should still be taken with a grain of salt, with confidence indices of 2 to 3 out of 5. But the maps displayed on the site Meteo France are all covered or almost covered in yellow suns at this point, with temperatures sometimes even approaching 15 degrees in the morning and 25 degrees in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, this may not last and the month of May could, in turn, prove to be changeable. The Weather Channel For the moment, we are only considering 3 to 4 consecutive days of good weather. Thunderstorms will even be possible in the south and in the mountains. The forecasts will obviously, again and again, need to be clarified as your days of rest approach.
