Damage to the terraced house

This house, which has five tenants, is adjoining on one side with a house comprising three apartments occupied by three families and on the other side by a garage and two other apartments located on the ground floor.

Firefighters from the centers of Valdahon, Avoudrey, Pierrefontaine, Etalans, Pontarlier and Baume-les-Dames deployed hoses to protect the terraced houses and contain the fire which was fueled by parquet floors on the upper part. The large scale even had to be deployed.

The building, belonging to Mr. and M.me Daudey, is completely destroyed and the adjoining house also suffered damage to the roof and walls. A car parked in front of the building was also damaged by falling tiles.

No victims, families relocated

Fortunately, the fire caused no casualties, the tenants being at work or absent at the time of the disaster.

The mayor, Christian Vermot-Desroches, as well as two of his deputies went to the site to put traffic in place on this departmental road.

A solution will be studied to rehouse families. The investigation, entrusted to the gendarmerie, will have to determine the causes of the disaster.
