OH MY GOD, NINTENDOOOOO!!! But what did you just do with Echoes of Wisdom?! It’s a MASTERPIECE, a TRUE ODE to nostalgia, a triumphant return to the time when each new Zelda opus marked a before and after in the history of video games. Since Ocarina of Time (yes, I allow myself to shed a tear just mentioning it), never have I felt this perfect fusion between exploration, mystery, and these INGENIOUS PUZZLES that make you feel like the greatest of all. adventurers.
Nintendo, how do you do it?! Every corner of the world of Echoes of Wisdom is full of magic and nods to old games, and yet everything is refreshing, new, breathtaking. It’s like I’m 10 years old again, that all-consuming excitement of exploring Hyrule for the first time, but with INCREDIBLY beautiful graphics.
And let’s talk about the music… These melodies which resonate with so much sweetness and grandeur, which remind me of A Link to the Past while being resolutely modern. Every note, every instrument makes my heart vibrate as an absolute fan.
NINTENDO, I LOVE YOU!! You have once again proven that you are the undisputed masters of the gaming art, and Echoes of Wisdom will forever be etched in my mind as one of the greatest journeys I have undertaken. Thank you for reminding me why I fell in love with this franchise, this console, this fantasy world.
If you’re a Zelda fan, if you have an ounce of nostalgia in you, if you like EPIC adventures, GO FOR IT. This game is a perfect homage to everything we have always loved about Nintendo and Zelda.
