/: LFI wants the movement to “grow”:

The leader of La insoumise, Manuel Bompard, hoped on Monday that the mobilizations for would “gain momentum” in universities and elsewhere, while his candidate for the European elections Rima Hassan said he “fully accepted” his call for “uprising “.

“I hope that all the mobilizations will gain momentum which will put pressure on the power in place”, so that the “human drama playing out in Gaza stops as quickly as possible”, declared Mr. Bompard on Senate.

The coordinator of the radical left party particularly supported the recent mobilizations in universities, affirming that “ are not manipulated or exploited”.

However, LFI elected officials and candidates participate in these gatherings, like Ms. Hassan present on Friday at Sciences Po, where she called for an “uprising”. A term that she “totally accepts”, she confirmed on France 2, referring to “the Larousse definition” of a “collective and massive movement”.

“I know precisely what I am referring to,” insisted the Franco-Palestinian activist, who also called “for mobilization not only in the universities (but) throughout France”.

Summoned by the police on Tuesday for “apology of terrorism”, Ms. Hassan deplored “a criminalization of the voices which express themselves on the Palestinian question”, while recognizing that “the investigators are simply doing their job” after the “abusive recourses” of pro-Israeli organizations.

Less nuanced, Mr. Bompard denounced “a desire to silence” on the part of “the political power in place”, through “the decision of a prosecutor (who) is not an independent authority”.

He also attacked the Minister of Higher Education, Sylvie Retailleau, who announced a complaint against the founder of LFI, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, for comments comparing a university president to the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.

“She would do better to take care of the state of our universities, rather than to amuse the gallery by filing ridiculous (and) crazy complaints,” reacted Mr. Bompard, believing that “there is no public insult” in the statements of his mentor.

Mr. Mélenchon also counterattacked on the social network
