A thorny subject in Paris, especially as the Olympic Games and the surge in prices that will occur, Airbnb rentals are at the heart of the debates on Parisian Real estate. Today we looked at data provided by Inside Airbnb, a survey and monitoring site analyzing the real estate rental service. The result is lots of data giving us more information on how the platform works in Paris.
Airbnb in Paris: numerous figures and statistics revealed
With Bordeaux, Lyon and the Basque Country, Paris is one of the 4 places in France analyzed by Inside Airbnb. Thus, on the 74,329 housing units listed on the platform, numerous statistics were generated, notably on the type of accommodation, the activity, the length of stay and the number of advertisements per host. In short, a lot of data, the most important of which we have deciphered.
Among the figures to remember, we can already see that 87% of ads concern entire dwellings, not private or shared rooms. A fairly high figure compared to other major capitals in the world. If we look at the durations and costs of average stays in Paris, a first surprising piece of data catches the eye: the average duration of a stay in Paris on Airbnb is 62 nights ! This is particularly due to long-term rentals, numbering more than 6,000 over the last 12 months. On the price side, and this is surely what interests us the most, the average per night in Paris is €200 ! A fairly high sum, which is unlikely to deflate with the arrival of the Games…
