Hooded men attacked a prison van which was transporting an inmate incarcerated at Le Havre prison. The latter was in the process of being transferred to that of Val-de-Reuil.

The attackers managed to escape, with accomplices, taking the prisoner with them.

According to our sources, the latter’s name is Mohamed Amra. Aged 30, he is very unfavorably known to the police and justice services. Associated with organized crime, he was notably involved in drug cases, but also kidnapping, sequestration and attempted homicide.

He was detained for attempted murder, according to a Source close to the case. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison on May 10, 2024 by the Evreux criminal court for aggravated theft.

The events took place in 2019 in Eure. With an accomplice, he committed several thefts in warehouses of sports and household appliances brands. His criminal record includes around ten mentions of theft and refusal to comply. He also committed crimes while being a minor.

The man is also indicted by the JIRS of Marseille for kidnapping and sequestration leading to death, specifies the Paris judicial court in a press release.

Contrary to what was initially indicated by the Paris prosecutor’s office, this man was not classified as a particularly notable detainee (DPS), according to the prison administration. He was classified escort 3, according to this same Source, which means 5 agents including an officer.
