First eleven minutes of pure madness

You shouldn’t arrive late at Roazhon Park! Stade Brestois and Stade Rennais played a rhythmic from the first minutes of play, this Sunday, April 28, 2024. Arnaud Kalimuendo, first, deceived Marco Bizot first (1-0, 4′), while the Dutch goalkeeper roughly helped him to widen the gap (2-0, 8′). But reacted quickly thanks to Steve Mounié, who jumped highest on a set piece, then shot Steve Mandanda… with his knee (2-1, 11′). Three goals scored in eleven minutes, the promise was announced.

Brassier validates the European Cup in Brest

Brest just needed one point for official qualification for the European Cup next season: it’s validated! Stunning thanks to goals from Mounié (2-1, 11′), to the unfortunate Warmed Omari (2-2, 48′), to Martin Satriano (2-3, 54′) and Mahdi Camara (2-4, 66′ ) and despite the return of the Rennais (3-4, 68′ then 4-4, 79′), the Brestois enjoyed until the end and even snatched a sensational victory, thanks to the former… Rennais, Lilian Brassier, at at the end of added time (4-5, 90’+6). Thanks to the three points from the victory, the Brestois are at least assured of competing in a European Cup next season, while waiting for this Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.).

Stade Rennais dives back

Leading by the score (2-0), then trailing (2-4), Stade Rennais brought a rather extraordinary compendium of emotions to its audience. Author of a fantastic start to the match, thanks to a double from Kalimuendo (4′, 8′), the Bretillian club only kept this two-unit advantage for three short minutes (2-1, 11′), before conceding three new goals and finding themselves trailing, on their lawn (2-4), shortly after the hour mark (Camara, 66′). Initially sharp, Julien Stephan’s players showed a defensive fragility exploited by the Brestois, like Omari who was not very reassuring and even scored against his side.
