Ligue 1 (D32) – Stade de Reims returns to its audience with a victory against Olympique de Marseille (1-0)

Stade de Reims beat Olympique de Marseille this Wednesday, May 15 (1-0), for a late match on the 32nd day of Ligue 1.

The Rémois quickly took control of the match, with a first goal from Marshall Munetsi (4th). The Reims midfielder recovers a nice deep pass before stepping in front of Pau Lopez and placing the ball in the back of the net. This goal was ultimately refused for a legitimate offside position by the Zimbabwean.

The Rémois are pushing. Junya Ito finds the gloves of the Marseille goalkeeper (15th)… who cracks a few minutes later. On a cross from the Japanese, particularly good this Wednesday evening, defender Chancel Mbemba pushes the ball into his own court, following good pressure from Marshall Munetsi (33′)

In the second period, the Rémois managed to contain the few attacks of the Marseillais yet looking for a European place this season. There are more spaces and Adama Bojang (on a heel pass from Ito) appears alone against Pau Lopez. But the young Reims striker completely misses his shot which misses the Marseille goal (78′).

The Rémois manage to maintain this result, rise to 10th place and please their audience at the end of the season. Let’s hope that the joy will be similar on Sunday, at Delaune, against Rennes, for the last day of Ligue 1.
