While the Xbox Wireless Controller won’t be getting the new translucent faceplates available for the Elite 2 controller, it is now available in a new special edition that is transparent. The Xbox Wireless Controller – Ghost Cipher Special is a mix of translucent plastic, bronze triggers, and gray grips.
Along with the new translucent faceplates for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox has also announced a new special edition of the Xbox Wireless Controller. The Xbox Wireless Controller – Ghost Cipher features a transparent housing that allows you to see the silver internal components.
The controller features a metallic bronze D-pad and triggers, while the rest of the buttons and thumbsticks are gray. It also features ash gray rubberized grips and a white back. This new special edition joins the Sky Cipher Special Edition (currently $65 on Amazon) announced in July, the two transparent options available for the Xbox Wireless Controller.
Except for the color, the controller is no different from the standard edition. It connects via Bluetooth and works not only with the Xbox Series S/X, but is also compatible with Windows 10/11 PCs and mobile phones and tablets running Android or iOS. You can also use it with a compatible Fire TV Stick for Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The Xbox Wireless Controller – Ghost Cipher Special Edition retails for $69.99 and is available for pre-order on Xbox.com. It will be released on October 8, 2024.
