PlayStation is back with a colossal State of Play this September 2024. Big games are announced, in addition to very nice updates for several very popular titles.
After another summer punctuated by the big traditional conferences, from Summer Game Fest to Gamescom, the start of the school year also has some nice surprises for gamers. Nintendo has already launched hostilities, but now it’s PlayStation’s turn to present its line-up for the coming months with its State of Play. While we were expecting a mixed conference, the evening was ultimately worth the wait with some very nice announcements.
Highlights of the State of Play for the start of the 2024 school year
The conference opened with a bang with Sony’s new mascot! As expected, Team Asobi presented the free DLC ofAstrobot. In terms of exclusives, this big conference had plenty to spare. We were treated to the remaster of Horizon Zero Dawnwhich leaked a few days ago. The LEGO version of Aloy also showed up, with as much humor as ever. But, the highlight of the show was the announcement of the sequel to Ghost of Tsushimanamed Ghost of Yotei. That said, the exclusives weren’t the only AAAs to show up. Indeed, Dragon Age 4 also unveiled a very big trailer.
A good wind of nostalgia was also invited during this SoP. We saw something new for the very good TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. But, J-RPG fans will rather lean towards Lunar Remaster Collection. To top it all off, Legacy of Kain was indeed confirmed to the great delight of players in the 1990s.
PSVR2 was also highlighted. Hopefully you like shaking, because things are looking dark between The Midnight Walk et Metro Awakening. And as they say, “never two without three”: Hitman Assassination actually showed up tonight. But, in terms of hardware, it was mainly the PS5 Pro that got its own segment by revealing again the games that will be specially optimized.
