During the press conference given by the Mont-de-Marsan prosecutor Thursday afternoon, following the singer’s hearing on his hospital bed the day before in Pessac (in the suburbs of Bordeaux), it was revealed that he had 2.5 grams of alcohol per liter of blood at the time of the incident.

During her hearing, Soraya Miranda, who has shared the artist’s life since 2014 and with whom she has a 3-year-old daughter, explained that her companion would suffer from a “burgeoning addiction” to alcohol. It was at this moment that everything went wrong, that Kendji Girac panicked, grabbed a Colt 45 which was in a cupboard and placed it against his chest, without checking if it was loaded. “When I saw that she was going to leave, I was afraid,” he explained during his hearing, assuring that he only intended to “impress” her and “scare” her “. “I wanted to make Soraya hear the sound of the trigger, so that she wouldn’t leave […]. I did something that is not me, that is not my habit,” he regretted.

For the prosecutor in charge of this case, it is impossible to verify whether it was a simulated suicide or a real attempt. Especially since Soraya Miranda confided during her hearing that her companion had already mentioned the desire to end his life. However, Kendji Girac assures that he would be “incapable of harming himself”.
Another element which suggests that the thesis of a suicide attempt is not implausible: the recent suicide of an uncle more or less close to the artist, who was seriously ill. The latter ended his life on March 24, in similar circumstances, with a shot in the chest, while he was not far from his wife… But it is impossible for Kendji Girac to admit to a suicide attempt , if it were one, as the subject is so taboo among gypsies.
A life as a couple put to the test
Life within the gypsy community surrounding the singer also had an impact on his marital happiness. Because she is originally from Switzerland, and she does not come from that world, Soraya Miranda admitted to having encountered difficulties integrating into her in-laws, who did not see this union as a good one. eye.
Following their meeting in 2014, Kendji Girac and the young woman first began a long-distance relationship, before moving together in the Paris region in 2020. Her family still living in Switzerland, Soraya returns to her country every month, while taking part in caravan trips with her in-laws.
Although her husband is a singing star, the young mother, of a daughter named Eva Alba, born in 2021, chooses to remain in the shadows. “She doesn’t want to put herself forward. It’s his choice.
