At midday on April 25, a man was shot and killed in a street in Toulenne near Langon. The perpetrator of the shooting has reported himself and is in police custody. The Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office confirms that a neighborhood conflict was at the origin of the tragedy. A complaint against the victim had been filed. An investigation is opened for murder and violence with the use or threat of a weapon.
The investigation has only just begun, but already, “it appears that a neighborhood conflict latent for several years between the accused and the victim and the latter’s mother would be at the origin of the tragedy“, specifies the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office in a press release.
Frédérique Porterie, the public prosecutor of Bordeaux, returned to what happened on April 25.
At midday, a little before noon, the Langon gendarmerie brigade was notified of “strokes of
fire fired on rue de Vincennes”. Arriving on site, the soldiers heard “two detonations”. They then call for reinforcements and take care of securing the scene.
“On site, they noted the presence of a man on the ground, bloodied, to whom they performed a cardiac massage while waiting for medical help to arrive.“, indicates the press release. Unfortunately, despite the resuscitation attempts of the gendarmes, the man, “identified as Christophe Roy, born in 1969, died shortly after”.
The forensic doctor dispatched to the scene concluded that “the presence of at least two sprays of lead having hit the deceased, including a spray of lead at the chest level with impacts to the head”.
In parallel, the cbetween operations and intelligence of the gendarmerie received “the call from a man informing them of the facts while designating himself as the author”.
Probably with the aim of surrendering, he then indicated “the operator a period of 10 minutes before leaving his home, without a weapon.
This is how the latter was “arrested and taken into custody”. In his home, the soldiers found “a 12 mm caliber 2-shot superimposed barrel rifle placed on the table”. The man had also attached “documents prepared for the care of your dog“.
A neighborhood conflict would be at the origin of the facts. However, Frédérique Porterie, the public prosecutor of Bordeaux, assures that no complaint has been listed.before Monday April 22, 2024, the date on which the respondent came to file a complaint against Christophe Roy for acts of violence without ITT committed on March 22, 2024, i.e. one month previously.
During his testimony, the man in police custody nevertheless indicated to the gendarmes “that there had never been any physical violence between him and Christophe Roy before”.
The Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office specifies that, at this stage, “both the victim and the alleged perpetrator, aged 59, are in fact unknown to the gendarmerie and the courts“.
The tragedy occurred in a residential area of Toulenne, a small town in Gironde near Langon.
This April 26, the investigation continues. “Many actions remain to be carried out“, specifies the prosecution while around 7 p.m., Thursday evening, the hearing of the accused continued.
The investigation, entrusted to the Langon research brigade, is open on charges of “murder” but also “violence with use or threat of a weapon without incapacity” since the deceased’s mother was present on the scene as well as a neighbor who came to help her“were threatened.
