Bruno Hourcade, the biggest winner in the history of television games and the greatest champion of “12 coups de midi” (TF1), has just released a book entitled “Me, millionaire?”.

Meet the TV prodigy.

Why did you have the idea of writing a book about your journey?

It’s a personal challenge because I’ve been reading forever. I was asked to write a book. I haven’t returned to work so I have some free time. It was busy and I hope it will answer questions from fans of “12 coups de midi”.

When you’re a game show champion, is it a real job?

Yes, culture is not the main thing. We often lose because of fatigue. There is a physical fatigue that sets in when we shoot from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and also the psychological aspect because there is a lot of money at stake, promotion, interviews. You have to make it your job to be able to survive.

Did you get a big head when you won €1,000,000?

No, it was the opposite. I have imposter syndrome. Now I can tell myself that I deserved to earn so much money. It helped to tell myself that it was a private channel, I’m not stealing anyone’s money.

What do you think of Emilien’s career in “12 coups de midi”?

You cannot undertake such a journey without a level of general knowledge. He is only 22 years old, we don’t realize the fatigue and psychological aspect. My ego made me say that this was going to make me sad, but in the end it won’t change anything in my life and my adventure. Today, I almost want him to overtake me because he will be the one who will have all the pressure. When I come back, I am always the one who must not fail. He’s the one who will recover the negative aspects with the stress and the image of the show so it doesn’t bother me if he surpasses me.

Have you been offered other shows since your adventure in “Les 12 coups de midi”?

I was offered “Les Cinquante” for season 2 on W9. I did the interview. The concept is funny but I’m a terrible reality TV contestant. I told him I wasn’t going to do the job.

Today, what is your lifestyle?

I don’t have a job, I have done a few missions in art and culture. I don’t see myself working in an office again. I earn my living thanks to my investments in rental property and my investments. I didn’t want to invest in the stock market. I have the luxury of letting myself live and choosing my work. With my investments, I earn around €2,000 per month.
