Two motorcycle accidents occurred this Saturday, September 21, on the roads of Savoie and caused significant human damage. Shortly before 4 p.m., a 33-year-old man died after a collision with a car in the town of Montvalezan, located in Haute-Tarentaise.
The accident occurred on the D1090 road, which leads to the Petit Saint-Bernard pass, the border point between France and Italy.
When they arrived on the scene, emergency services tried to resuscitate the victim, but in vain. The victim was declared dead at the scene of the tragedy. The driver of the car, the only one on board, was taken care of by emergency services in a state of shock. However, he was not hospitalized and was left on the scene.
Nearly four hours earlier, a few kilometres from Montvalezan, another accident occurred on the same road leading to the Petit Saint-Bernard pass. This time, only one vehicle was involved. A motorbike, with two people on board, left the road in the commune of Séez shortly before noon.
Both people were hospitalized. The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old man, was taken to Bourg-Saint-Maurice hospital in a serious condition, with a life-threatening prognosis. The passenger, a 57-year-old woman, was slightly injured in the accident.
