Carillon school closed for a third day

The announcement was made Tuesday at the end of the day by the Center de services scolaire de la Région-de-Sherbrooke (CSSRS). However, the daycare service remains open, it is specified. “Every effort is being made to reopen classes on Thursday April 25,” says the CSSRS.

“Despite the significant damage in the school, no equipment was damaged and the students’ materials were not affected,” we recall.

It will be an educational day for the students and staff of the Carillon school. The gymnasium will be accessible for daycare and sanitary services must be available in sufficient quantity for students.

It is also specified that there will be school crossing guards present in the morning, but that there will be no school transport.

“Parents received today the work plan for the week and can, if they wish, discuss some concepts with their child,” we say.

Parents are invited to check their email at the end of the day on Wednesday to find out if the school will actually be reopened on Thursday.

Harms

Late Sunday evening, vandalism occurred inside the establishment. A clean-up operation began overnight from Sunday to Monday.

The Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) confirmed Monday morning that a complaint was filed for misdeeds that occurred at the Carillon school. An investigation is underway.

Martin Carrier, spokesperson for the SPS, explained that the police were called to the scene at 11:52 p.m. Sunday evening due to a fire alarm being triggered.

“In order not to harm the investigation, we will not give specific details,” he said Monday morning.
