A soldier died after being accidentally hit by gunfire on Tuesday morning during an exercise on the parade ground in Bremgarten (AG). The shot came from an assault rifle, coming from a military vehicle, for reasons to be clarified, indicates the army.
The man was hit in the head. After receiving first aid, he was airlifted to hospital, where he died in the morning, said the Federal Department of Defense (DDPS).
The accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. At that time, members of Recruit Supply School 45 were in an instructional sequence, according to DDPS. Recruit school is in its 15th week of training.
The victim’s relatives have been informed. Like the deceased’s comrades, they were taken care of by local and army psychologists.
Military justice has opened an investigation.
