On Monday, September 9, around fifty members of the UD53 set off at 6 a.m. from Laval for an unforgettable outing in Paris. Warmly welcomed by the senator of Mayenne, Élisabeth Doineau, at the Senate, the participants had the opportunity to visit the prestigious Luxembourg Palace. The elected official, delighted to welcome former gendarmes, joined the guide to enhance the visit with anecdotes about the history of this emblematic place.
Lunch took place at the mixed circle in the Des Célestins district, followed by a visit to the stables, the museum, and the riding schools of the famous barracks of the Republican Guard. At the end of the afternoon, the group headed to the pont Neuf vedettes landing stage for a cruise on the Seine. Despite a cloudy sky, the participants were able to admire the Parisian monuments along the Seine, from the Pont d’Austerlitz to the Pont d’Iéna, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, accompanied by commentary from an experienced guide.
The day, full of discoveries and conviviality, allowed everyone to leave with memorable memories and a smile on their face.
