This weekend, singer Shakira was performing on stage at LIV Miami nightclub to celebrate the release of her latest single, “Soltera.” The singer abruptly left the stage after noticing a spectator trying to film her dress.
In the footage captured by fans, Shakira can be seen smiling and dancing, before being seen lengthening her dress several times while gesturing to a member of the audience, indicating that she had spotted her and asking them to stop filming up her skirt. Despite this warning, the individual appears to continue filming and Shakira, who had resumed her dancing, then gestures with her hand to say “stop” before leaving the podium.
“Lack of respect”
A reaction understood and defended by many Internet users on X who denounce “a lack of respect” towards the singer: “It’s simply disgusting. Shakira had every right to leave, no one should have to suffer this kind of lack of respect”; “Absolutely unacceptable behavior. She deserves to perform without such invasive and disrespectful acts.”; “It’s because of this kind of incident that I tend to avoid clubs now. It happens too often and without major consequences.”
The singer then continued her evening with her friends, including Brazilian singer Anitta, in the DJ booth.
According to US media reports, including Billboard, Shakira is set to kick off the North American leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour on November 2 with a show at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California.
