In videos shared on social media, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer can be seen looking at a person in the audience while holding her skirt with both hands while making her understand that she had seen what she was doing. While she then resumed her dance a few seconds later, she stopped again after seeing that the individual, determined to spoil the party, continued to film her with his phone.
After making a “stop” sign with her hand, the 47-year-old singer decided to leave the podium to join her group of friends who were standing next to the DJ. Once she got off the stage, quite annoyed and embarrassed, she seemed to explain the situation to her friends, including Brazilian singer Anitta, who was present and seemed to have seen that something was wrong.
The video of the incident has already made the rounds on social networks and many Internet users have come to the defense of the X star to denounce the “disgusting” and “perverse” act of the individual. “Sexually harassing a celebrity in public like that, without any shame, is crazy… Lock them up,” wrote one of them. “No one should have to suffer this kind of disrespect,” we can also read, or again “artists deserve respect, on stage and off.”
Despite her anger, Shakira then continued to enjoy the evening alongside her friends in the DJ booth, and no longer on the podium, and has not communicated since the incident.
