On February 15 at the beginning of the afternoon, Florent Thibaudeau closed his PMU bar to go to a meeting with his accountant. It was then that he received a rather unexpected phone call. The Parisian management of the PMU informed him that an important winning ticket had been validated in his establishment.

The customer registered his bet at 1:55 p.m., five minutes before closing. He is a regular at the bar “le Calumet”. He bet on a race which took place in Cagnes-sur-Mer and pocketed the tidy sum of 283 106 euros.

Obviously, the lucky winner is not playing at random. He seems to be a specialist. Obviously, he does not want his identity revealed.

At the “Le Calumet” bar, customers chat over their half a beer: “Records are made to fall, right! That’s it now, we’re waiting for the next one!”

Already, I’m thinking that I would buy a house and go away for a quiet weekend, a big weekend, yeah, a big weekend! Maybe I’d buy some real estate to make that work.

Only the boss of the “Calumet” knows the identity of the winner. He met him again since February 15. The latter explained to him that he had had great difficulty cashing out his winnings, as his bank did not accept checks. The PMU had to make a transfer to him.

One thing is certain, with such a well-filled account, he will have no trouble finding a much more accommodating bank, which will allow him to cash in his next winnings much more easily… perhaps.
