The broad clearings will quickly give way to numerous cloudy fields, sometimes already bringing showers in the morning this Monday, according to the latest forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute. In the afternoon, a line of more structured and intense showers will cross our territory from the coast towards the Ardennes. There will then be a risk of sleet and thunderstorms. The maxima will be between 8 degrees on the relief and 11 degrees in the center. The southwest wind will strengthen to become quite strong to strong inland and strong to very strong at sea, with gusts of around 80 to 90 km/h as the line of showers passes. The IRM has also placed the entire territory on yellow alert for wind, between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

This Monday evening, we will still have to deal with a few showers, interspersed with sometimes wide clearings. On the heights of the Ardennes, there could be showers of (melting) snow. During the night, the sky will become cloudy with the arrival of more showers from the North Sea. The minimums will range between 0 degrees in Hautes-Fagnes and 7 degrees at the sea.

Weather: in April don’t uncover yourself by a thread

Tuesday, there will be abundant cloudiness with sometimes in the form of showers, which will cross Belgium from north to south. The maxima will vary between 10 degrees in Flanders and 4 degrees in the Hautes-Fagnes. The moderate to fairly strong west to northwest wind, along the strong northwest coast, will reinforce the impression of great freshness. Gusts could reach 70 km/h, along the coast 80 km/h.

Number 1722 activated for risk of storm and flood

The FPS Interior has therefore activated the special number 1722, in order to prevent emergency lines from being clogged with calls for interventions that can wait. In the event of damage caused by a storm or water damage for which assistance from the brigade is required, you must therefore dial this number. If a life is in danger, you should call 112.

The FPS also recommends using the electronic counter 1722.be, considered “the most direct way to request help from firefighters in situations where no life is in danger”.
