Among the men, there are five Germans in the 128-strong field of starters, and six in the women’s field. Originally, this would also have been the case for the men, but Dominik Koepfer had to cancel at short notice due to injury.
Alexander Zverev, Yannick Hanfmann, Jan-Lennard Struff, Maximilian Marterer and Daniel Altmaier will compete in the men’s singles. In the women’s singles, Angelique Kerber, Eva Lys, Tatjana Maria, Tamara Korpatsch, Laura Siegemund and Jule Niemeier qualified for the tournament.

The bookmakers see Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic as the favourites in the men’s competition. In the women’s competition, the tournament victory is likely to go only to Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina or Coco Gauff. Aryna Sabalenka, one of the top favourites, had to cancel her participation at short notice.
