Led by world champion Mathieu van der Poel and six-time Tour stage winner Jasper Philipsen, the Belgian team Alpecin-Deceuninck starts the 111th Tour de France – with a new outfit and four “new” faces.

U23 World Champion Axel Laurance, classic rider Gianni Vermeersch, sprint rider Jonas Rickaert and Robbe Ghys are celebrating their debut at the second major national tour of the season.

The line-up is completed by Silvan Dillier, who is taking part in his fifth Tour, and Søren Kragh Andersen, who will be taking part for the sixth time.

The team’s goal is to win stages again – by Jasper Philipsen on the sprint stages and by Mathieu van der Poel on the classic sections such as the gravel stage on day nine around Troyes. Winning the green jersey for the rider with the most points is also once again a declared goal of top sprinter Jasper Philipsen.

New jerseys for Alpecin-Deceuninck in dark denim look

The eight riders will not be wearing their typical blue denim look at this Tour de France. Instead, they will wear a special dark denim kit to support the “Fight the Time” campaign for the new Grey Attack shampoo from main sponsor Alpecin. This shade in the jerseys highlights the result achieved by using Grey Attack – namely having darker hair again.

While the racers constantly fight against time and never give up, this campaign and the associated equipment symbolize the fight against one of the most visible signs of aging – gray hair.

It was filmed with Mathieu van der Poel and his two team bosses, the brothers Phillip and Christoph Roodhooft.
