Rail traffic was interrupted between Aubagne and Carnoules this Wednesday, January 22, due to a personal accident at Toulon station. Delays and train cancellations are expected.
A temporary SNCF agent died after being electrocuted, BFM Toulon Var learned from a police source. “Traffic is currently interrupted in the area to allow the intervention of emergency services and law enforcement,” said SNCF.
“This morning an SNCF agent lost his life on a railway site in the Var. My immediate thoughts are with the victim and his loved ones. They also accompany the women and men who implement the work on a daily basis, alongside us , the regional public rail service”, wrote on his X account, Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
-Traffic resumes at 11 a.m.
Due to these disruptions, several trains heading to Marseille, Hyères and Les Arcs-Draguignan were canceled. Significant delays are also expected. Passengers on the TGV heading to Paris at 7:50 a.m. are delayed by two hours because of the incident.
Same situation for people wanting to go to Nice whose trains initially scheduled for 6:42 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. are delayed by more than an hour. Traffic is scheduled to resume at 11 a.m.
