Head of the Strabag construction company died unexpectedly during a fast

The CEO of the Austrian construction group Strabag, Klemens Haselsteiner, died unexpectedly. The company, one of the largest in the country, announced “with great shock” the 44-year-old’s “sudden and unexpected” death.
At this time, Haselsteiner was in Carinthia for a cure. The family doctor, Rainer Schroth, said to the Austrian daily newspaper “Kleine Zeitung”that the 44-year-old died of an aneurysm hemorrhage. “Medically speaking, we had no chance.” An aneurysm is an enlargement of the blood vessels.

Klemens Haselsteiner has been a member of the board of directors since January 1, 2020 and chairman of the board of Strabag since January 1, 2023.
