In recent days, snow and ice alerts have come and gone. This Monday, January 20, 2025, three departments are placed on snow-ice yellow vigilance.
This is the Saône-et-Loire, Rhône and Loire. Twelve other departments are on alert, for floods or avalanches.

From Brittany and the Pays de Loire to the northern borders as well as in the Alsace plain (areas which are not on alert), in the Val de Saône and Lyonnais (three departments on alert), in the morning of this Monday will be dominated “ in very gray weather with still freezing fogsometimes small snowfalls,” predicts Météo-France, which has placed three departments on yellow alert.
In the afternoon, the gray weather breaks up and gives way to clearings, but a few patches still resist.

In Corsica, the rain-snow limit is around 1600 m. In the Southern Alps it snows from 1000 m in the morning, then 1300 m in the afternoon.
Over the rest of the country, the sky alternates between clouds and beautiful sunny periods.
And the thermometer?
On the mercury side, the minimums are always low « with -5 to 0 degrees on the northern half, -3 to +2 degrees south2 to 7 degrees on the edge of the Mediterranean,” indicates Météo France.
The maximums range from2 to 7 degrees northagainst “7 to 12 degrees from New Aquitaine to Occitanie and the Mediterranean rim and 11 to 15 in Corsica”.
