We start at 2.20pm: the third women's World Cup relay will be staged on Saturday in Ruhpolding, before the grand finale on Sunday with the two Mass Starts. French (without Jeanmonnot) favorites and looking for their first success of the season, but watch out for Sweden. Germany pays for the absences of Voigt and Tannheimer, while Italy will try to fit in as outsiders with Passler, Wierer, Trabucchi and Carrara.
Italdonne enters the third round of the season with two opposite results: fourth place in Kontiolahti and 11th in Hochfilzen, where, however, Dorothea Wierer was missing. The South Tyrolean champion will be there today, lined up in the second half, together with Passler at the throw and the Martina Trabucchi-Michela Carrara pair in the second part of the match. On paper the blue quartet starts as outsiders but with credentials to aim for a top 5, even if the momentum of the team, as seen in the men's relay, is not the best. What is certain is that a strong result on the eve of the home stage would be of enormous help for morale and for the rest of the season.
Here is the IBU live timing!
-Here is the starting list!
In the previous two seasons, Sweden and Germany shared the victories, with France always second. If the Germans, fresh from the success of Hochfilzen, present themselves in a largely restructured formation due to the absences of Voigt and Tannheimer, the Swedes are instead ready to challenge the transalpines, great favorites and motivated to achieve the first success of this CdM, but without the leader Jeanmonnot. Recent precedents in Bavaria are favorable to the French who triumphed in 2024, 2022 and 2019, as well as Norway, who however will have to defend themselves without Tandrevold.
